PSLV C38 is a 40th mission of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle and 17th mission of XL series. It carries 31 satellite to put into the Polar Sun Synchronous Orbit(nearly 550 kms) above the Earth. Among those 2 satellites Cartosat 2 and NIUSAT from TN university satellites are payloads in this PSLV c38 rocket. Cartosat 2 is a Earth observed satellite useful for Cartography(Land surveying), Military purposes, Urban infrastructure developments, estimation of floods affected areas, etc.,.
